Where I Write These Stories
A few snapshots from the places and moments these stories came out of, mostly late nights and old keyboards. Stories like Our Thoughts on AI usually start unglamorously, long before they ever get written down.
Take that particular one. It began with an old BlackBerry Bold pulled out of a drawer at my parents’ place, charged more out of nostalgia than any real plan. There was no autocomplete waiting to finish a sentence, no AI nudging the next paragraph into place before I had decided what I actually thought. Just a small screen, a keyboard, and whatever sat in my head that evening.
A Few of These Stories
That constraint mattered more than expected. Writing slower, on a device built for nothing else, forced a kind of patience. A laptop with twelve open tabs rarely allows that. Most of the stories collected here trace back to some version of that same slowness, even the ones that never touched a BlackBerry at all.
None of these stories are about grand turning points. Most are about small, specific decisions that only look meaningful in hindsight.

How These Stories Get Written
Most of these stories start as notes on my phone before they turn into anything readable, closer to a personal essay than a polished article.
A note becomes a paragraph days or weeks later, usually while doing something completely unrelated. Not every note survives that gap. The ones that do tend to hold up on rereading, sometimes better than expected, and those are usually the ones worth expanding into a full story.
What Makes A Story Worth Telling
The ones that do tend to be about something specific rather than something general: a habit, a tool, a small decision that mattered more than expected at the time. A blog post explains a topic from a comfortable distance. A story, written the way these are, walks through one particular experience. A reader can decide for themselves what to take from it.
Nothing here gets wrapped up with a tidy lesson at the end, mostly because real experiences rarely work that way.

These stories keep changing shape over time, since most of them get revised more than once after the first draft goes up.
A story worth keeping is usually worth returning to later with a slightly different perspective. Enough distance makes the original draft easier to see clearly. The version on this page today is rarely the exact one that went up originally.
New stories get added slowly, only once there is something worth saying rather than on a fixed schedule.
